    Minecart Mania Permission

Post by Ekranoplan on Sun Aug 14, 2011 2:04 pm

    Hi,

I have been trying to use the minecart mania mod, but I noticed I don't have permission to use any of the signs. I have tried making [hold for x] and [Launch] signs but it says I don't have permission. Why is this?

    Thanks,
    Ekranoplan

Its buggy, and most of its functions can be done with pistons, power/detector rails.

Just try to place a cart somewhere, it will go back to your inventory after awhile. Never got that part.

In single player I use powered rails, but they seem to work funny on this server. If the rail is not powered it boosts the mine cart when it should be stopping it. I thought that was no big deal because I could just use the obsidian blocks instead, but its impossible to control the direction of launching unless you use those signs. I can't imagine that the sign commands related to launching are buggy, it seems simple enough.

If powered rails simply worked opposite (no redstone = boost, redstone = brake) then I wouldn't bother with the obsidian launchers, but instead the powered rails boost without a redstone current, and let mine carts pass by with a redstone current. There needs to be a way to use powered rails for braking.

Powered rails are bugged atm, they are backwards, Power needs to be applied to them to stop the cart and it doesnt need to recieve power to boost them, just notch messing up again.

There are many parts of mine cart mania that we as in non-owners cannot use. The most useful thing is item collection to chests. This allows fully automated farms. There are other uses for the plugin, I believe only the basic things can be used.

Obsidian always launches the same way, this is a problem however it can be easily over come. Its use out weighs its little annoyance in that way. Between this and auto collection chests A farm can be made via a button for sugarcane, shrooms, wheat will need replanting, and its possible to make a flower farm (easier if you have a mob trap as well).

The reason that it goes back to your inventory is it glitches out and breaks itself, so the cart and everything in it will go to your inventory.

I am trying to make a monorail, so I need the obsidian launchers to launch the mine carts towards the next stop, not back to the previous stop. I could orient all of my stations so the track is pointed in the dominant launching direction, but it seems silly since there are sign commands to override the pre set directions.

Ok, let me find out how this crap works. To be honest, I just threw it in the plugins with little to no configuration, Orcworm style.

A simple loop would also work, but if you would like to use the signs I will post the needed permissions later.

To use the loop figure out which way it launches and have the cart go over the track and you can launch the cart on to the same set of tracks if you wish. Make sure it is 2 blocks higher then the rails or you will suffocate on your way in.

That's a good idea, though there are other interesting sign commands I would like to try out.

    Thanks,
